What is a CES employee?
CES employment is an estimate of the number of nonfarm, payroll jobs in the U.S. economy. A striking employee who only works a small portion of the survey period, and is paid, would be included as employed under the CES definitions.
Is the CES report mandatory?
The CES report is voluntary under federal law and is mandatory in New Mexico, Oregon, South Carolina, and Puerto Rico. Legal citations for the state requirements are listed on the CES report form.
